Kevin Garnett helped Minnesota end a seven-game losing streak, scoring a season-high 37 points in the Timberwolves' 95-89 victory over the sloppy Sacramento Kings on 95-89 on Sunday. After going 0-6 on a trip up and down the West Coast in which they held halftime leads in all six games, the Timberwolves turned it around at home against a Kings team fighting for playoff positioning.

Ron Artest has never heard an Indiana crowd boo so loudly. He couldn't even recall the hated Detroit Pistons getting as rude a reception as he received from Pacers fans on Friday night. In the end, Pacers fans were cheering. Artest shot poorly in his return to Indiana as the Pacers beat the Sacramento Kings 98-93.

Although road victories remain elusive, the Sacramento Kings are thriving at home. Coming off a pair of losses away from Arco Arena, Ron Artest scored a season-high 34 points and the Kings beat the Seattle SuperSonics 105-96 Tuesday night for their 14th straight home win. The Kings' home-winning streak is tied for the fourth longest in franchise history.

Bonzi Wells took a moment to see that, for once, Andrei Kirilenko was nowhere near the ball. Kirilenko had blocked 10 shots but had drifted toward the basket looking for another one. He couldn't recover to Wells as the Kings' guard sank a wide-open 3-pointer with 1:37 remaining to key Sacramento's 91-89 win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

Kwame Brown has taken a lot of heat from the hometown fans and media in his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He heard only cheers Wednesday night. Kobe Bryant scored six of his 28 points in the last three minutes, Brown had a season-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings 87-80 to move into seventh place in the Western Conference.

Sacramento Kings forward Bonzi Wells was fined $5,000 by the NBA on Monday for punching a ball into the locker-room tunnel during a loss to Golden State. Wells was ejected during the first quarter of Sunday's 90-83 loss to the Warriors. He was angered by a foul called against him, bounced the ball high into the air and then volleyed the bounce into the tunnel leading to the Kings' locker room.

This isn't the first time the Golden State Warriors have looked like a playoff team just after the postseason slipped out of reach. Still, if Jason Richardson and his teammates maintain this latest late-season surge, they've got a slim chance to put themselves right back in the pressure of the playoff race.

To Brad Miller, it's still a win, even if it came against the woeful Trail Blazers. And wins are crucial right now for the Sacramento Kings. Miller scored 24 points Wednesday night and Sacramento beat Portland 106-90, extending the Trail Blazers' longest losing streak in 20 years to nine. "Obviously Portland is having its struggles right now, but it's up to us to play as a team, keep working and try...

The trainers stopped the bleeding just long enough for Caron Butler to shoot his free throws. After a quick trip to the locker room for six hasty stitches in his hairline, he was back on the court. The Washington Wizards were short-handed, travel-weary and generally battered. They still wouldn't let a little blood or a lot of sweat divert them from an impressive win.
